Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Land & Property, Construction & Engineering and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 24.39% or 5.00 points to end at 25.50 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT), which lost 17.96% or 81.50 points to trade at 372.30 in late trade. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) shed 12.77% or 3.00 points to 20.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 44 and 43 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.35% or 1.00 to $73.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.54% or 1.30 to hit $82.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.65% or 7.80 to trade at $1197.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 222.950, while USD/LKR rose 0.26% to 170.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 95.65.
