Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Land & Property, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.32% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 50.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.300 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 20.00% or 80.00 points to 480.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 24.29% or 3112.50 points to trade at 9700.00 in late trade. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) declined 15.86% or 3.60 points to end at 19.10 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) shed 13.13% or 4.40 points to 29.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 76 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.91% or 0.56 to $61.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.61% or 0.40 to hit $64.85 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1330.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.72% to 216.465, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 155.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 89.78.
