Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Investment Trust and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.12%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) added 20.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was up 18.89% or 6.10 points to 38.40 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which lost 19.92% or 78.60 points to trade at 316.00 in late trade. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 12.54% or 150.50 points to end at 1050.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) shed 8.21% or 121.70 points to 1360.00.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 64 and 70 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.20% or 0.13 to $65.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $70.49 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 9.50 to trade at $1353.40 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 219.200, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.800.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 88.71.
