Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (MC:MAP), which fell 0.07% or 0.002 points to trade at 2.877 at the close. Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) fell 0.20% or 0.040 points to end at 19.600 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was down 0.41% or 0.09 points to 21.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 3.89% or 1.125 points to trade at 27.790 in late trade. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 3.57% or 0.154 points to end at 4.161 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) shed 3.35% or 0.248 points to 7.152.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 153 to 31 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.73% or 9.90 to $1338.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.96% or 0.63 to hit $65.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.62% or 1.13 to trade at $68.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.2463, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8805.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 88.96.
