Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.27% or 0.610 points to trade at 27.430 at the close. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL) added 0.81% or 0.070 points to end at 8.710 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 0.62% or 0.360 points to 58.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which lost 3.34% or 0.960 points to trade at 27.780 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 2.78% or 0.340 points to end at 11.910 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) shed 2.33% or 0.095 points to 3.980.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 64 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.27% or 3.60 to $1330.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.34% or 0.20 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $62.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.2357, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 89.56.
