Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.05% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (MC:TEF), which rose 1.10% or 0.077 points to trade at 7.085 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 1.09% or 0.014 points to end at 1.296 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 0.21% or 0.035 points to 17.075 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which lost 6.31% or 1.560 points to trade at 23.160 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 4.84% or 1.260 points to end at 24.780 and Aena SME SA (MC:AENA) shed 4.74% or 6.95 points to 139.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 155 to 26 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1192.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.07% or 1.55 to hit $73.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.74% or 1.48 to trade at $83.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1542, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.06.
