Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which rose 1.33% or 0.120 points to trade at 9.145 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 0.64% or 0.160 points to end at 25.240 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was up 0.58% or 0.105 points to 18.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 3.04% or 0.855 points to trade at 27.250 in late trade. BBVA (MC:BBVA) declined 2.80% or 0.174 points to end at 6.050 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 2.06% or 0.255 points to 12.120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 55 and 28 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 4.60 to $1223.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.01% or 1.36 to hit $69.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.38% or 1.00 to trade at $73.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1615, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 94.80.
