Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 1.82% or 0.300 points to trade at 16.780 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 1.41% or 1.100 points to end at 79.360 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was up 0.58% or 0.011 points to 2.002 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which lost 2.09% or 0.510 points to trade at 23.890 in late trade. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 2.05% or 0.093 points to end at 4.479 and Inditex (MC:ITX) shed 1.87% or 0.510 points to 26.740.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 61 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.90 to $1205.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.16% or 1.53 to hit $72.31 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.75% or 2.15 to trade at $80.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1770, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8969.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.69.
