Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which rose 1.34% or 0.380 points to trade at 28.630 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 0.64% or 0.140 points to end at 22.200 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 0.39% or 0.017 points to 4.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.55% or 0.142 points to trade at 5.420 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.53% or 0.605 points to end at 23.285 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) shed 2.21% or 0.151 points to 6.685.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 40 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.17 to $1292.23 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.59% or 1.22 to hit $48.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.80% or 1.43 to trade at $52.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.9137.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.44.
