Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 1.63% or 0.325 points to trade at 20.300 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 1.33% or 0.044 points to end at 3.360 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:NTGY) was up 1.14% or 0.270 points to 24.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.25% or 0.142 points to trade at 6.158 in late trade. Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) declined 1.82% or 0.440 points to end at 23.760 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) shed 1.78% or 0.076 points to 4.199.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 68 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.25 to $1310.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.66% or 1.42 to hit $54.73 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.04 to trade at $62.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1420, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.593.
