Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 3.94% or 1.030 points to trade at 27.200 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 2.71% or 0.300 points to end at 11.370 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) was up 2.52% or 0.335 points to 13.625 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 2.11% or 0.152 points to trade at 7.044 in late trade. Inditex (MC:ITX) declined 1.49% or 0.390 points to end at 25.810 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.42% or 0.240 points to 16.660.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 77 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.78% or 10.20 to $1322.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.25% or 1.43 to hit $64.97 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.48% or 1.67 to trade at $69.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.2264, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.8712.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 89.76.
