Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gas Natural (MC:GAS), which rose 2.61% or 0.485 points to trade at 19.090 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 2.45% or 0.290 points to end at 12.130 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) was up 2.11% or 0.580 points to 28.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inditex (MC:ITX), which lost 2.01% or 0.580 points to trade at 28.290 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.78% or 0.460 points to end at 25.450 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) shed 1.63% or 0.205 points to 12.365.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 78 and 11 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.20% or 2.70 to $1345.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.16% or 0.75 to hit $65.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.54 to trade at $69.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.2486, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 88.61.
