Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 2.08% or 0.245 points to trade at 12.030 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 1.44% or 0.190 points to end at 13.395 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.32% or 0.320 points to 24.585 in late trade.
Biggest losers included B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which lost 3.02% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.768 in late trade. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 3.01% or 0.085 points to end at 2.736 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 2.38% or 0.229 points to 9.413.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 59 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.22 to $1289.02 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.61% or 0.84 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 0.87 to trade at $56.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8766.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 93.05.
