Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 4.17% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.99 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 3.51% or 0.40 points to end at 11.78 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) was up 1.88% or 0.11 points to 5.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Melia Hotels (BME:MEL), which lost 3.45% or 0.27 points to trade at 7.55 in late trade. Bankinter (BME:BKT) declined 1.90% or 0.15 points to end at 7.64 and Repsol (BME:REP) shed 1.78% or 0.26 points to 14.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 95 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.06% or 25.05 to $2,394.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.30% or 0.25 to hit $84.13 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.13 to trade at $87.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 104.63.
