Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.24% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:GAS), which rose 2.46% or 0.570 points to trade at 23.700 at the close. Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) added 1.08% or 0.035 points to end at 3.272 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 0.98% or 0.780 points to 80.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which lost 3.03% or 0.800 points to trade at 25.640 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 2.51% or 0.158 points to end at 6.140 and Inditex (MC:ITX) shed 2.11% or 0.550 points to 25.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 70 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.70 to $1207.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.46% or 0.32 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.56 to trade at $78.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.06.
