Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 2.23% or 0.255 points to trade at 11.700 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 1.83% or 0.39 points to end at 21.46 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.45% or 0.350 points to 24.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 1.58% or 0.156 points to trade at 9.734 in late trade. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.50% or 0.280 points to end at 18.360 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) shed 1.30% or 0.790 points to 60.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 76 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.10% or 1.30 to $1247.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.77% or 0.44 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 1.12 to trade at $64.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1792, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.80.
