Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 1.61% or 0.023 points to trade at 1.449 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 0.92% or 0.034 points to end at 3.720 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 0.71% or 0.042 points to 5.961 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MC:IDR), which lost 5.83% or 0.660 points to trade at 10.660 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 3.90% or 1.100 points to end at 27.090 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) shed 1.74% or 0.225 points to 12.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 67 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.60 to $1277.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.78% or 1.17 to hit $64.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.59 to trade at $74.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 94.76.
