Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 2.21% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.85 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 2.02% or 0.19 points to end at 9.85 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) was up 1.64% or 0.09 points to 5.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which lost 2.43% or 0.79 points to trade at 31.68 in late trade. Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) declined 1.82% or 0.36 points to end at 19.10 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) shed 1.62% or 0.68 points to 41.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 77 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.63% or 16.50 to $2,589.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 106.33.
