Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 2.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which rose 3.42% or 0.260 points to trade at 7.860 at the close. Inditex (MADRID:ITX) added 3.42% or 0.958 points to end at 28.988 and Iberdrola (MADRID:IBE) was up 3.20% or 0.189 points to 6.079 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abertis Infr (MADRID:ABE), which lost 0.71% or 0.115 points to trade at 16.020 in late trade. Endesa (MADRID:ELE) declined 0.14% or 0.025 points to end at 17.275 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MADRID:TRE) gained 0.04% or 0.015 points to 41.080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 179 to 30 and 4 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.45% or 5.30 to $1187.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.51% or 0.30 to hit $59.24 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.28 to trade at $65.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1232, while EUR/GBP fell 1.65% to 0.7267.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.73.
