Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 3.56% or 0.065 points to trade at 1.892 at the close. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) added 3.15% or 0.975 points to end at 31.980 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 2.91% or 0.705 points to 24.915 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 1.18% or 0.155 points to trade at 12.975 in late trade. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 18.59 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) gained 0.31% or 0.090 points to 28.740.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 148 to 28 and 14 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.86 to $1291.14 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.50% or 0.73 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 0.90 to trade at $51.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1788, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.9081.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.24.
