Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Enagas (BME:ENAG), which rose 6.27% or 0.80 points to trade at 13.55 at the close. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) added 4.76% or 0.46 points to end at 10.12 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) was up 3.63% or 0.07 points to 2.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Melia Hotels (BME:MEL), which lost 0.54% or 0.04 points to trade at 7.33 in late trade. Bankinter (BME:BKT) declined 0.26% or 0.02 points to end at 7.54 and Fluidra (BME:FLUI) gained 0.10% or 0.02 points to 19.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 138 to 46 and 34 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.79% or 18.65 to $2,386.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.27% or 1.03 to hit $82.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.93% or 0.79 to trade at $85.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.73.
