Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 5.81% or 0.46 points to trade at 8.42 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 5.39% or 0.10 points to end at 2.04 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was up 2.34% or 0.04 points to 1.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which lost 1.62% or 1.40 points to trade at 84.95 in late trade. Repsol (BME:REP) declined 1.39% or 0.21 points to end at 14.92 and Bankinter (BME:BKT) shed 0.68% or 0.05 points to 7.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 142 to 56 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.61% or 37.55 to $2,370.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $82.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.17 to trade at $86.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
