Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.23% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which rose 3.22% or 0.20 points to trade at 6.42 at the close. Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 2.60% or 0.05 points to end at 1.88 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) was up 2.48% or 0.29 points to 11.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankinter (BME:BKT), which lost 0.90% or 0.07 points to trade at 7.95 in late trade. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) declined 0.75% or 0.13 points to end at 17.18 and Logista (BME:LOG) shed 0.21% or 0.06 points to 27.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 70 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.22% or 31.55 to $2,612.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.48% or 0.33 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.33 to trade at $72.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.06.
