Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG), which rose 4.84% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.49 at the close. Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) added 1.78% or 3.60 points to end at 205.80 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 1.76% or 0.34 points to 19.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which lost 3.51% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.00 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) declined 2.09% or 0.47 points to end at 22.06 and Repsol (BME:REP) shed 1.93% or 0.23 points to 11.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 76 and 31 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 18.35 to $2,683.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.90% or 3.62 to hit $70.21 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.71% or 3.65 to trade at $73.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.96.
