Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 3.84% or 0.470 points to trade at 12.725 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 2.25% or 0.144 points to end at 6.538 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was up 1.76% or 1.260 points to 72.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL), which lost 0.38% or 0.035 points to trade at 9.120 in late trade. Indra A (MC:IDR) declined 0.37% or 0.040 points to end at 10.640 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 0.17% or 0.020 points to 12.050.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 43 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.20 to $1196.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.05% or 0.69 to hit $66.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.48 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1540, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8966.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 95.36.
