Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 6.05% or 0.710 points to trade at 12.450 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 4.07% or 1.050 points to end at 26.875 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 2.75% or 1.390 points to 51.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MC:IDR), which lost 4.45% or 0.575 points to trade at 12.340 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 1.91% or 0.480 points to end at 24.630 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) shed 0.62% or 0.051 points to 8.103.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 136 to 33 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.47 to $1271.23 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.24 to hit $54.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.35 to trade at $60.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1651, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.45.
