Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY), which rose 1.55% or 0.36 points to trade at 23.58 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) added 1.53% or 0.56 points to end at 37.10 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was up 1.53% or 0.07 points to 4.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which lost 1.85% or 0.67 points to trade at 35.63 in late trade. Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL) declined 1.61% or 0.18 points to end at 10.98 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) shed 1.50% or 1.10 points to 72.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 82 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 3.50 to $2,664.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.28% or 2.44 to hit $76.82 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.13% or 2.44 to trade at $80.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.23.
