Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (BME:BKT), which rose 4.70% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.19 at the close. Telefonica (BME:TEF) added 2.87% or 0.12 points to end at 4.13 and Enagas (BME:ENAG) was up 2.83% or 0.38 points to 13.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which lost 5.62% or 1.17 points to trade at 19.65 in late trade. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) declined 1.61% or 1.00 points to end at 61.20 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) shed 1.05% or 0.90 points to 85.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.11% or 2.65 to $2,462.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $81.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.23 to trade at $85.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.73.
