Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR), which rose 1.76% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.12 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) added 1.20% or 0.48 points to end at 40.54 and Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) was up 1.18% or 0.02 points to 1.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which lost 0.58% or 0.14 points to trade at 23.80 in late trade. Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI) unchanged 0.32% or 0.00 points to end at 1.26 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) shed 0.32% or 0.20 points to 61.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 58 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.13% or 3.51 to $2,631.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.34% or 0.93 to hit $70.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.87 to trade at $73.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 107.99.
