Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which rose 1.35% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.11 at the close. Mapfre (BME:MAP) added 1.12% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) was up 1.10% or 0.49 points to 44.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which lost 1.70% or 1.30 points to trade at 75.00 in late trade. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) declined 1.27% or 0.26 points to end at 20.26 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) shed 0.98% or 0.11 points to 11.08.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 89 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.98% or 24.55 to $2,483.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.68 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.25 to trade at $80.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 102.31.
