Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.59% or 0.580 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 2.02% or 0.480 points to end at 24.230 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 1.47% or 0.098 points to 6.745 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 2.33% or 0.227 points to trade at 9.513 in late trade. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM) declined 1.31% or 0.165 points to end at 12.380 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) shed 1.12% or 0.046 points to 4.043.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 66 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 6.45 to $1328.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $47.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.23 to trade at $52.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1875, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.9160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 92.70.
