Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which rose 2.91% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.14 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL) added 2.26% or 0.22 points to end at 9.98 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) was up 2.09% or 0.62 points to 30.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankinter (BME:BKT), which lost 1.84% or 0.14 points to trade at 7.37 in late trade. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) declined 1.83% or 0.15 points to end at 8.03 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) shed 1.81% or 0.17 points to 9.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 95 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.44% or 37.54 to $2,645.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.67% or 1.18 to hit $69.40 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $72.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 107.38.
