Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 2.55% or 2.040 points to trade at 82.060 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 2.41% or 0.430 points to end at 18.300 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 2.15% or 1.350 points to 64.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 4.31% or 0.470 points to trade at 10.430 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 2.13% or 0.158 points to end at 7.244 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) shed 1.70% or 0.067 points to 3.870.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 76 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 2.80 to $1193.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.02% or 1.48 to hit $74.73 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.58 to trade at $84.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1573, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
