Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 2.94% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.889 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.74% or 0.565 points to end at 21.210 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) was up 2.24% or 0.056 points to 2.553 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrovial (MC:FER), which lost 1.26% or 0.250 points to trade at 19.520 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.23% or 0.290 points to end at 23.350 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) shed 1.13% or 0.410 points to 35.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 79 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.22% or 2.95 to $1316.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.69% or 0.37 to hit $54.03 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.10% or 0.68 to trade at $62.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.018.
