Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 1.98% or 0.235 points to trade at 12.130 at the close. Inditex (MC:ITX) added 1.85% or 0.510 points to end at 28.020 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 1.24% or 0.750 points to 61.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.09% or 0.043 points to trade at 2.016 in late trade. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.09% or 0.320 points to end at 29.150 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 0.92% or 0.055 points to 5.947.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 73 and 32 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1220.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $66.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1562, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 95.23.
