Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 3.74% or 1.10 points to trade at 30.48 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 2.17% or 1.00 points to end at 47.00 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.90% or 1.18 points to 63.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 2.76% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.17 in late trade. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.26% or 176.00 points to end at 7600.00 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.10% or 0.29 points to 13.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 329 to 265 and 116 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.96% or 0.45 to $46.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.48% or 0.24 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.06% or 12.30 to trade at $1177.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.00% to 4.2320, while USD/PLN fell 0.56% to 3.6989.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.59% at 94.25.
