Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.96% or 0.0390 points to trade at 0.3950 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 4.92% or 0.0820 points to end at 1.7470 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.84% or 0.1300 points to 15.6350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.15% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.1535 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 1.83% or 0.008 points to end at 0.429 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 1.13% or 0.0710 points to 6.2220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $55.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.27 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 7.85 to trade at $1217.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.0578, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8666.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 101.72.
