Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p), which rose 4.12% or 50.0 points to trade at 1265.0 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) added 2.70% or 7.80 points to end at 296.60 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was up 1.35% or 8.50 points to 639.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which lost 3.75% or 5.90 points to trade at 151.62 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 3.68% or 0.0359 points to end at 0.9398 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) shed 3.55% or 0.0066 points to 0.1791.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 140 to 80 and 16 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.46% to 23.860.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1245.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $50.46 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.20 to trade at $53.33 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.43% to 56.3368, while EUR/RUB rose 0.20% to 60.335.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 100.21.
