Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 4.85% or 0.655 points to trade at 14.160 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 3.18% or 47.00 points to end at 1525.00 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 3.05% or 0.0232 points to 0.7849 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megion (MCX:MFGS), which lost 6.54% or 35.0 points to trade at 500.0 in late trade. MMK (MCX:MAGN) declined 3.53% or 1.090 points to end at 29.810 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) shed 2.91% or 6.60 points to 220.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 82 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.23% to 25.610 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.97 to $1282.17 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.90% or 0.43 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.58 to trade at $49.37 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.04% to 56.6225, while EUR/RUB fell 0.34% to 63.7130.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 96.78.
