Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM), which rose 3.38% or 2.43 points to trade at 74.31 at the close. ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES) unchanged 1.85% or 0.00 points to end at 0.08 and GDR Globaltrans Inves ORD SHS (MCX:GLTRDR) was up 1.83% or 9.30 points to 517.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX:TATN), which lost 5.92% or 39.20 points to trade at 622.70 in late trade. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 5.89% or 38.90 points to end at 621.10 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) shed 3.49% or 45.00 points to 1,245.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 136 to 103 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.31% to 32.32.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 25.30 to $2,640.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.21% or 3.25 to hit $73.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $77.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 96.73, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 106.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 102.21.
