Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which rose 2.22% or 114.00 points to trade at 5,248.00 at the close. TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) added 0.62% or 16.50 points to end at 2,659.00 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) was up 0.25% or 0.09 points to 33.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK (MCX:PIKK), which lost 3.22% or 20.90 points to trade at 628.50 in late trade. Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) declined 3.08% or 4.31 points to end at 135.40 and Ozon Holdings PLC (MCX:OZONDR) shed 2.99% or 103.00 points to 3,345.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 71 and 5 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.37% to 30.24.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.40 to $2,681.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.40% or 1.72 to hit $69.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.13 to trade at $73.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.01% to 92.51, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 102.96.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 100.64.
