Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 1.17% or 7.10 points to trade at 613.00 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) unchanged 0.93% or 0.00 points to end at 0.10 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 0.74% or 9.20 points to 1,247.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK (MCX:PIKK), which lost 3.86% or 31.30 points to trade at 779.80 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 2.57% or 1.33 points to end at 50.39 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) shed 2.55% or 0.90 points to 34.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 168 to 81 and 4 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.17% to 29.82.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 21.80 to $2,486.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.49% or 1.17 to hit $77.18 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $79.91 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 89.79, while EUR/RUB rose 0.01% to 98.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 102.43.
