Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which rose 2.81% or 1.240 points to trade at 45.445 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 2.53% or 3.40 points to end at 137.60 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) was up 2.45% or 10 points to 398 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 6.93% or 384.0 points to trade at 5155.0 in late trade. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 2.68% or 4.00 points to end at 145.20 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) shed 2.58% or 0.2300 points to 8.7000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 86 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.58% to 18.970.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.01% or 13.60 to $1338.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.15% or 0.76 to hit $65.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.53% or 1.07 to trade at $69.08 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.18% to 56.3560, while EUR/RUB fell 0.31% to 69.5783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 89.39.
