Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 3.17% or 15.45 points to trade at 503.00 at the close. NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 2.54% or 13.1 points to end at 529.2 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) was up 2.19% or 7.00 points to 326.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which lost 12.62% or 1.300 points to trade at 9.000 in late trade. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 4.64% or 6.50 points to end at 133.50 and Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) shed 3.54% or 2.81 points to 76.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 138 to 82 and 16 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.47% to 18.100.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.68% or 8.60 to $1266.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $57.38 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.18 to trade at $63.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.29% to 58.6287, while EUR/RUB rose 0.11% to 69.2013.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 93.10.
