Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which rose 2.19% or 12.10 points to trade at 564.10 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 1.52% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.7990 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 1.43% or 65.0 points to 4615.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which lost 2.60% or 12.20 points to trade at 457.80 in late trade. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 2.18% or 3750 points to end at 168050 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) shed 1.81% or 12.20 points to 660.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 126 to 94 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.97% to 24.480.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.53% or 6.70 to $1262.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.60% or 2.45 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.31% or 1.72 to trade at $76.27 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.50% to 63.0989, while EUR/RUB rose 0.22% to 73.6100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 94.23.
