Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 4.19% or 46.90 points to trade at 1167.00 at the close. Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) added 1.68% or 72.0 points to end at 4361.0 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 1.21% or 0.585 points to 48.835 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 6.25% or 49.4 points to trade at 740.6 in late trade. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) declined 3.72% or 0.2500 points to end at 6.4700 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 3.05% or 3.40 points to 108.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 136 to 66 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.58% to 29.290.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 2.30 to $1203.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.30% or 1.58 to hit $67.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 1.46 to trade at $75.81 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.69% to 69.4098, while EUR/RUB rose 1.54% to 80.6086.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.09.
