Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 6.02% or 0.0530 points to trade at 0.9330 at the close. Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE) added 2.26% or 69.0 points to end at 3123.0 and Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC) was up 2.14% or 1.400 points to 66.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO), which lost 7.73% or 1110.0 points to trade at 13250.0 in late trade. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 3.42% or 26.70 points to end at 753.00 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 3.35% or 0.990 points to 28.560.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 108 and 19 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.24% to 25.510.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.75 to $1321.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.54% or 0.26 to hit $48.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.21 to trade at $50.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.47% to 62.7925, while EUR/RUB fell 0.15% to 70.576.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.33.
