Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 3.88% or 68.00 points to trade at 1820.00 at the close. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 2.22% or 0.1650 points to end at 7.6100 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 1.74% or 0.205 points to 11.955 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which lost 3.16% or 21.30 points to trade at 653.10 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.77% or 2.250 points to end at 78.950 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) shed 2.66% or 4750 points to 173500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 93 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.74% to 20.240.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.86 to $1329.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.21 to trade at $52.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.79% to 57.5453, while EUR/RUB fell 1.03% to 68.3458.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.69.
