Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 6.25% or 335.00 points to trade at 5,694.50 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 5.15% or 2.54 points to end at 51.83 and Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX:MAGN) was up 3.98% or 1.77 points to 46.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL), which lost 0.73% or 96.50 points to trade at 13,176.50 in late trade. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM) declined 0.61% or 0.04 points to end at 6.14 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) shed 0.52% or 6.20 points to 1,182.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 61 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.10% to 30.50.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.48% or 12.60 to $2,596.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.35% or 0.93 to hit $69.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 91.50, while EUR/RUB rose 0.01% to 101.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.67.
