Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 4.96% or 29.5 points to trade at 624.5 at the close. MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) added 4.32% or 446.0 points to end at 10760.0 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 3.62% or 150.0 points to 4292.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which lost 3.39% or 0.2250 points to trade at 6.4100 in late trade. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 2.45% or 105.0 points to end at 4180.0 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 1.33% or 1.65 points to 122.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 96 and 36 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.52% to 23.280.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1225.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.36% or 0.92 to hit $68.81 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.78 to trade at $73.84 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.38% to 63.3103, while EUR/RUB rose 0.28% to 73.9292.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.41.
